Football John of Gaunt Tournament 2017 - The Final Day - 2nd Nov 2017

Under floodlights Hilperton took to the field to play local rivals Staverton, a win and if results for others go in our favour we could finish 3rd.

We started well and put our opponents under pressure right from kick off.bGood work from Jordan put Alex through who crossed for Freddie to head into the net to put us one nil up.

Second half and we dominated the game and came close to scoring again on many occasions but when the final whistle blew it was still one nil to Hilperton

Final score Hilperton 1 Staverton 0

We then had to wait to see if Keevil could beat North Bradley if they did we would move to third spot.

It was a tense game for players and parents to watch and in the end they played out a nil nil draw. This result meant we were pipped to 3rd place on the goal difference of one goal.

Presentation next and all players received a medal, Alex was awarded another medal for Hilperton player of the tournament.

Well done to all team members a tremendous effort

Thank you to parents for support throughout the tournament

Football John of Gaunt Tournament 2017 - Match Day 3 - 5th October 2017

Two games today for the boys in yellow and blue.

First up North Bradley.

We were slow starters and our opponents squandered several chances to take the lead. Hilperton gradually got into the game and hit the post, 0-0 at half time.

Second period and we huffed and puffed our way through the match without really playing any flowing football and shortly before the end we conceded.

Final score Hilperton 0 North Bradley1

A short wait and the second game against our old foes Holt.

Our opponents have nearly always got the better of us but today we talked of not being turned over and playing as well as we could and this is what happened.

One of the best team performances ever from a Hilperton team, we matched Holt all over the pitch and were unfortunate not to score on several occasions.

A display worthy of a win but we had to settle for a nil nil draw.

Final score Hilperton 0 Holt 0

As usual great support from Parents and family members

Hilperton v Castle Mead

Sun is out, no rain and back on the astro at JOG again! Everybody is keen for a good tournament.

Team selection sorted, tactics sorted, lets play!

Hilperton started well and Jordan came close early on. Castle Mead play a quick passing game and the boys in blue and yellow had to be chasing every ball to keep in the game

Once again superb saves from keeper Finley kept us in the game

Half time 0-0

Second half Castle Mead piled on the pressure and we conceded. No heads dropped and we tried our best to penetrate their defence and in doing so this left us exposed at the back and we were 2-0 down. The effort put in by all players was tremendous but it was just not Hilperton's day

Final score Hilperton 0 Castle Mead 2
